“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves a mark on your memory, on your consciousness news, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you.
Hopefully, you leave something good behind’

Reflecting on WHAT is Global Education and WHY is it Important

I think about Project Zero's (Harvard Graduate School of Education) thinking tool, The 3 Ys.  This "routine for nurturing a disposition to discern the significance of a situation, topic, or issue keeping global, local, and personal connections in mind".  It has an individual think about why is it (the subject) important for/to the individual, to the people around/the community, and to the world.  My understanding of Global Education is the interconnectedness of the peoples of the world. In doing so - reflecting - I think about it as the learning about others to better understand how we can join together to make the world a better place for all people.  This is important for our community because together we are stronger and can offer so much more making the experience of living richer.  For the world, it means that we are not just a citizen of one nation but one of the world in which we all are stewards - here to protect our planet and each other.
